Friday October 6, 2023

The Idaho Real Estate Commission is seeking applications from qualified candidates to fill a Commissioner position for the Northern District (Idaho, Lewis, Nez Perce, Clearwater, Latah, Benewah, Boundary, Shoshone, Kootenai and Bonner counties) for a 4-year term.  Commissioners are appointed by the Governor to serve a four (4) year term and serve at the will and pleasure of the Governor.

The Commission is charged with administering and enforcing Real Estate License Law and the Subdivided Lands Disposition Act. Commissioners set policy for the operation of the agency, propose changes to license law and rules, decide requests for special consideration and felony exemptions, consider probable cause memos and hear disciplinary matters. Commissioners currently meet approximately nine to twelve times per year.

Interested candidates must be an actively licensed Idaho designed or associate broker who has had at least 5 years active license experience as a broker. Candidates should carefully review selection criteria contained in Idaho Code 54-2006. Qualifications of Commissioners – Term and Organization and 54-2007 – Compensation, Powers and Duties of the Commission.

To apply, complete the application form located on the Governor’s website at https://gov.idaho.gov/appointments/. Applications will be reviewed by the Governor’s office as they are received, and we anticipate the Governor will make an appointment in June.
