Nurse Intern Pilot Program Update

The Nurse Intern Pilot program was originally scheduled to sunset on April 15th, 2026; however, the Board of Nursing has decided to keep the program active and available for participants until July 1, 2027. During the Board of Nursing meeting on April 22, 2026, the Board chose to make some changes to limitations on practice found in the facility agreement and student application forms.  Current approved facilities may choose to incorporate the changes in an updated educational plan.  The original nurse intern pilot agreement and student application packet have been replaced with the updated forms on the Board of Nursing website under "Nurse Intern Pilot".

The Board will continue discussing the future of the program at their next meeting on June 29, 2026. This meeting will be virtual and open to the public. The Board of Nursing website will provide a link to the meeting in the coming weeks.
